About this event
Are you interested in getting started with shooting in the Vintage Military (M1 Garand) matches organized by Bayou Rifles, but you are not sure what equipment is needed or how the matches are run? Then this class is for you!
In this class you will learn from experienced shooters what equipment is needed to participate, how matches are run, what the safety rules and protocols are during matches and how to sign up for matches on the club calendar.
As part of the class you will have the opportunity to get into prone position with an M1 Garand, with help from instructors, and fire at the 200 yard target.
The cost of the class is $20. The duration is estimated to be 3 hours.
The class will start at 8 am. The class will be at the Juliff range, at the 200 yard line on the front 200/300 yard range.
When you register you will be asked questions about your level of experience with shooting rifles using iron sights, your experience with position shooting etc. Do not feel intimidated by these questions, no experience besides general rifle shooting proficiency is needed for the class. The questions are there to allow us to adapt the class to the experience level of the participants.
